Bunney’s Inc. delivers precise, non-destructive hydro excavation for utility and infrastructure work across Arizona. Using pressurized water and powerful vacuum systems, we expose buried utilities, carve narrow trenches, and cleanly remove spoil—reducing strike risk, minimizing surface disturbance, and keeping projects on schedule.

Why Choose Bunney’s Inc.
-
Arizona-ready operations: Methods tuned for heat, dust, hard soils, and monsoon conditions.
-
Safety-first culture: Job plans, traffic control, and utility coordination aligned with our Safety program.
-
End-to-end delivery: Locate, daylight, trench, clean-up, and restoration—plus documentation for as-builts.
-
Minimal disruption: Narrow trenches, reduced backfill/compaction needs, and faster site restoration.
-
Proven field experience: See outcomes in our project portfolio.
What We Do (Typical Applications)
-
Utility daylighting / potholing – Safely expose gas, water, power, fiber, and telecom for verification.
-
Slot trenching & service connections – Clean, narrow cuts for ducts, conduit, and laterals.
-
HDD support – Verify depths/clearances and expose conflict points along bores.
-
Valve boxes, meter sets & tie-ins – Precise, low-impact digging around sensitive assets.
-
Debris removal & culvert cleaning – Vacuum out sediment and spoil from confined spaces.

How Hydro Excavation Works
Hydro excavation uses pressurized water to loosen soil while a vacuum system conveys material into a sealed debris tank. The result is a controlled, clean excavation with a smaller footprint than mechanical digging—ideal near congested corridors and critical utilities.
Hydro vs. Air/Vac: We typically choose hydro for compacted or clay-rich soils and air/vac for dry conditions where spoil reuse is preferred. We’ll recommend the right method after a quick site review.
Advantages for Owners & GCs
-
Lower strike risk vs. mechanical excavation near live utilities
-
Fewer site repairs thanks to tighter cuts and cleaner edges
-
Better documentation with photos, depths, and offsets for as-builts
-
Improved schedule certainty through predictable production and less rework
Our Process
-
Pre-task planning – Utility locate review, access, traffic control, and job hazards.
-
Exposure/excavation – Method selection (hydro or air), production targets, spoil handling.
-
Verification & measurements – Utility ID, depth/offset recording, and photos.
-
Backfill & restoration – Material replacement, compaction, and surface repair as scoped.
-
Closeout docs – Daily reports, measurements, and as-built references.
Need recurring site support? Our facility maintenance services can include periodic utility exposures, culvert cleaning, and restoration.
Arizona-Specific Considerations
-
Heat & UV: Plan hydration, equipment cooldowns, and hose protection.
-
Hard soils & caliche: Hydro delivers faster production than mechanical in many cases.
-
Monsoon impacts: Sediment control and safe spoil containment to protect adjacent areas.
-
Dust & debris: Vacuum containment keeps corridors cleaner and reduces secondary cleanup.
