Bunney’s Inc. delivers safe, precise conduit excavation for power, fiber, and telecom systems across Arizona. From open-cut trenches and slot trenching to duct bank installation, pull boxes, and full surface restoration, we build reliable underground pathways that pass inspection and perform for decades.

Why Choose Bunney’s Inc.
-
Arizona-ready execution: Methods tuned for heat, dust, caliche/hardpan, and monsoon logistics.
-
Safety & compliance: Work aligned with our Safety program and local authority requirements (AHJ/utility standards).
-
End-to-end delivery: Utility locates and daylighting, trenching/shoring, conduit banks with spacers, concrete encasement (as specified), backfill/compaction, and paving or concrete flatwork restoration.
-
Tight coordination: We work seamlessly with owner utilities, EC/telecom teams, and HDD contractors; see Hydro Excavation and Potholing (Utility Daylighting).
-
Documented quality: Density tests, mandrel/proofing results, and photo/as-built reports.
What We Build
-
Power & telecom duct banks – Multi-conduit banks with spacers, sweeps, and encasement as detailed.
-
Service laterals & risers – From ROW to building/service equipment, including stubs and transitions.
-
Handholes & vaults – Installation, grading, drainage, and traffic-rated lids/frames.
-
Campus & street corridors – Public ROW, substations, data centers, industrial parks, and municipal sites.
Need post-install touch-ups? Our facility maintenance services can include periodic inspections, settlement repairs, and lid resets.
Materials & Methods (Matched to Your Specs)
-
Conduit types: PVC (Sch 40/80), HDPE (fused/pulled), steel/galvanized where required.
-
Depth & separation: Installed per AHJ/utility standards; separation and bedding to protect thermal and mechanical performance.
-
Concrete encasement: As detailed for protection, load capacity, or thermal considerations; proper cover and consolidation around spacers.
-
Bedding & backfill: Washed sand/shading around conduit; select/native fill or CLSM (flowable fill) for rapid reinstatement; compaction to target density.
-
Identification & traceability: Warning tape, tracer wire (where specified), pull strings/rope, and labeling at structures.
-
Proofing & testing: Mandrel/ball testing, pull-string verification, and continuity checks documented for closeout.
Our Process
-
Pre-task planning – Utility locates, traffic control, soil classification, and lift/lane sequencing.
-
Daylighting & trenching – Non-destructive exposures near conflicts; shoring/benching or shields per soil and depth.
-
Conduit bank build – Spacers, bends/sweeps, expansion joints, and encasement (if required).
-
Structures set – Handholes/vaults, base preparation, drainage/weep details, and grade coordination.
-
Backfill & surface – Layered compaction or CLSM; restore asphalt, concrete, or landscape to the approved section.
-
QA/QC & closeout – Tests, photos, redlines/as-builts, and turnover package.
Arizona-Specific Considerations
-
Caliche & hardpan: Moisture conditioning and appropriate compaction energy to meet density.
-
Monsoon season: Temporary drainage, erosion/sediment controls, and lane reopening plans.
-
Heat & UV: Material handling and sealants suited for high temps; schedule crews for safe productivity.

FAQs
How deep will our conduits be installed?
Depths and separations follow the authority having jurisdiction and utility/telecom standards for the corridor. We confirm requirements during preconstruction and note them in submittals.
Can you work in active ROW or live facilities?
Yes. We phase work with traffic control plans, coordinate outages/clearances, and maintain access for operations and the public.
Do you coordinate with HDD crews?
We expose conflict points (daylighting), verify bore paths, set structures, and tie in to open-cut or existing systems.
How fast can lanes reopen after trenching?
Flowable fill (CLSM) and cold-mill/overlay sequencing can accelerate reinstatement when permitted by the agency.
