Fire Line Construction Services
Preconstruction & Permits
Coordination with the AHJ, water provider, and fire marshal; submittals and schedule with milestone inspections.
Utility Locates & Daylighting
811 coordination plus safe exposures around existing water, gas, fiber, and electric.
Trenching, Bedding & Pipe Installation
Excavate and install ductile iron, C900 PVC, or HDPE per spec; bedding and compaction to required densities.
Valves, Hydrants & Appurtenances
Gate/auxiliary valves, PIVs, FDC tie-ins, thrust blocks/restraints, and Fire Hydrant Replacement where upgrades are needed. See also Valve Repairs.
Testing, Flushing & Commissioning
Hydrostatic pressure testing, flushing, and acceptance with the fire marshal/water utility; paint/mark per standard.
Surface Restoration
Backfill/compaction, sidewalk/curb repair, paving patches, and striping as required. For trenches, see Trench Backfilling.
How We Work
-
Plan – Review drawings/standards, establish MOT (traffic control), and confirm tie-in windows.
-
Prepare – Locate/daylight utilities, trench and bed, stage materials and inspection points.
-
Build – Install pipe, valves, hydrants, thrust restraint, and appurtenances per spec.
-
Verify – Pressure test, flush, witness with AHJ; complete punch list.
-
Restore – Backfill, compact, and restore surfaces; deliver as-builts and test reports.
Arizona-Specific Considerations
-
Heat & UV: Adjusted work windows, curing/handling of materials, and heat-illness prevention.
-
Monsoon readiness: SWPPP-aligned Erosion Control and rapid storm response to protect open trenches.
-
Dust control: Water trucks, stabilized access, and track-out prevention built into the plan.
FAQs
Do you handle permits and coordination with the fire marshal?
Yes. We manage submittals, inspections, and acceptance with the AHJ and water provider.
What pipe materials do you install?
Ductile iron, C900 PVC, and HDPE—selected per standard details, soil conditions, and project requirements.
Can you tie into existing systems during off-hours?
Yes. We schedule shutdowns, provide notifications, and coordinate isolation to minimize downtime.
Will you test and document the fire line?
We perform hydrostatic testing and flushing as required and provide signed test results, photos, and as-builts at closeout.
