Safe, code-compliant lighting for Arizona facilities

Serving businesses across Arizona, Bunney’s Inc. designs and installs site lighting and light poles for parking lots, streets, campuses, and industrial yards. We handle foundations, power, controls, and photometric layout so your project meets code, performs efficiently, and stands up to heat, dust, and monsoon winds.

What we install

  • Pole types: steel, aluminum, concrete, and fiberglass—matched to wind loads and corrosion risk

  • Foundations: anchor-bolt cages, drilled shafts/caissons, and spread footings for varied soils (including caliche and sandy fills)

  • Fixtures: LED area lights, roadway luminaires, wall packs, and floodlighting with dark-sky and cutoff options

  • Power & controls: wiring, contactors, breakers, photocells, time clocks, and smart/EMS integration

  • Accessories: bullhorns, brackets, banners, EV-ready conduit stubs, and camera brackets where permitted

    Our process

    1. Site walk & goals. Light levels, safety concerns, existing power, and constraints.

    2. Photometrics. IES-based layouts that target the right foot-candle levels and uniformity with minimal glare and spill.

    3. Engineering. Pole selection, foundation design, wind-load checks, and stamped drawings where required.

    4. Permits & utility coordination. AHJ submittals; 811 locates; trenching plans around existing utilities.

    5. Build. Foundations, conduit and wiring, pole erection, fixture aiming, and circuit labeling.

    6. Commissioning. Function tests, controls programming, punch-list closeout, and turnover package.

    Built for Arizona conditions

    • Monsoon-ready. Pole classes and embedment depths sized to local wind maps and site exposure.

    • Heat & UV. Coatings and finishes that resist chalking; drivers and components rated for high ambient temperatures.

    • Dust & debris. Gasketed fixtures, sealed splices, and best-practice terminations to protect connections.

    Safety & compliance

Work is performed to applicable standards (e.g., NEC, local amendments, IES guidance, OSHA practices). Crews follow LOTO, trench safety, and lift plans, and we provide as-built documentation, torque logs, and concrete tickets on request.

    Maintenance & upgrades

    • LED retrofits to cut energy and maintenance costs

    • Pole integrity checks (plumb, base corrosion, door covers, wiring)

    • Relamping/driver service and controls tuning

    • On-call repairs for knock-downs or storm damage

When to consider new poles or upgrades

    • Insufficient light levels or dark spots impacting safety

    • Corroded bases, leaning poles, or spalled foundations

    • Rising energy/maintenance costs from legacy HID fixtures

    • Site changes: re-striping, new EV stalls, or traffic pattern shifts

    Why teams choose Bunney’s Inc.

    • Clear planning. Photometrics and engineered details up front no surprises in the field.

    • Efficient installs. Night or off-hour work to minimize disruption.

    • Quality materials. Spec-grade poles, fixtures, and hardware matched to your environment.

    • Straightforward turnover. Warranties, submittals, and maintenance guidance included.

    FAQs

How deep are light pole foundations in Arizona?
Depth and size depend on pole height, fixture sail area, soil conditions, and wind exposure. We design each base (often a drilled shaft with anchor-bolt cage) to meet the engineered load, not a one-size-fits-all depth.

Can you work around existing paving and utilities?
Yes. We use utility locates, saw-cut and backfill trenches neatly, and can directional-bore where open cutting isn’t practical.

    Will LEDs reduce operating costs?
Typically yes—modern LED area lights cut energy by 40–70% versus HID and reduce maintenance. Controls (photocells, time clocks, or networked nodes) add further savings.

Do you provide photometric (lighting) plans for permit?
We can produce IES-based layouts showing average/minimum levels, uniformity, and BUG ratings to support permit submittals.

What is the typical lead time?
Stock poles and fixtures can move quickly; custom heights, finishes, or special foundations require additional lead time. We’ll confirm schedule after the site walk and submittal approvals.

Do you handle repairs after storms or knock-downs?
Yes. We can assess the base, replace damaged poles/fixtures, and verify circuit integrity often with temporary lighting to maintain safety.

    What warranties are included?
Fixture manufacturers commonly offer 5- to 10-year warranties; poles vary by material and finish. Our workmanship is covered under a separate installation warranty.
