What We Build
-
Equipment & generator pads – Level, reinforced slabs with sleeves, conduits, and anchor bolt templates.
-
Transformer & switchgear pads – Elevated or fenced pads with grounding provisions and cable trench coordination.
-
Housekeeping pads – Raised pedestals for pumps, MCCs, air handlers, and skids.
-
Slabs for small structures – Enclosures, kiosks, and utility buildings (see concrete flatwork).
Need ongoing care? Our facility maintenance services cover joint sealing, crack repair, and resealing.
Specifications That Matter (and Why)
-
Subgrade & base – Proof-roll, moisture condition, and compact to spec to prevent settlement and pumping.
-
Thickness & reinforcement – Section sized to load; rebar/WWE and dowels placed per design for load paths and edge protection.
-
Anchors & embeds – Templates set to OEM bolt circles; sleeves/conduits coordinated to avoid rework.
-
Jointing plan – Correct spacing/depth to control shrinkage cracking; isolation joints at columns, walls, and fixed equipment.
-
Finish & slopes – Broom or trowel finish per use; positive drainage away from pads and penetrations.
-
Curing & protection – Curing compounds/blankets and barricades to protect early-age concrete in Arizona heat.
Installation Process
-
Assessment & Layout – Verify loads, equipment footprints, penetrations, elevations, and access.
-
Subgrade Prep & Forms – Excavate, compact base, set forms to line/grade, install vapor barrier (as specified).
-
Reinforcement & Embeds – Place rebar/mesh, dowels, conduit sleeves, and anchor bolts; QA checks before pour.
-
Placement & Finishing – Controlled slump, strike-off, bull float, finish (broom/trowel), and edge tooling.
-
Joints & Curing – Timed saw cuts, curing application, and edge protection; remove forms and patch edges.
-
Closeout – Punch list, cleaning, and handover with care/traffic guidelines.
Arizona-Specific Considerations
-
Heat & UV: Accelerate hydration—use proper curing and joint timing to reduce curl and random cracking.
-
Monsoon events: Protect fresh placements; design drainage to move water off and around pads.
-
Expansive/caliche soils: Address with subgrade treatment and base thickness; choose sealers to resist salts.
